I would appreciate some opinions on the optional floor that goes from the
tailcone forward. I can see benefits in not having it: less work, less
weight, bottom skin exposed for inspection.
Besides being able to sleep on it, has anyone found any other pluses for
having it? Would just a partial floor, say from bulkhead C forward do?

Paul, one definite plus is added strength, but you also have the extra
weight and extra work(but it will only take a few extra hours.) Another
definite plus is mounting equipment back there in case you CG is too far
forward. But if you just want to go far enough back for baggage I think
that would be just fine. It's whatever you are looking for.

Hi Paul !
Put the floor in. It will add considerably to the strength
of the fuselage cone (- and your resale value ;-)) It also makes
it easier to get back there to service the ELT, etc.
Don't forget the trick of using thin Mylar to drill your holes,
transferring them to the floor - and leaving one fuselage side clecoed
only, so you can reach in easily.
