Door op0inions wanted

Hi all,
I have the conventional door arrangement, and have put a LOT of sticky
weatherstrip at the front corners to try to stay warm in the winter.
I also found that the door and the Lexan have a different expansion
rate, and when I first arrive when it's cold, you can SEE out the door
at the front. REALLY COLD d:-(... but after the heat gets onto it even
in the winter, the gap closes (almost). Anybody else note this??
Further to the oil cooler problems,
I have an O 320 and I was getting hot oil and tried everything to get it
lower. It seemed to be intermittent, ie sometimes cool, sometimes hot.
I have a remote cooler mounted on the top right firewall, with a 2 in.
(only) duct from the back of the plenum. I added a NACA scoop on the
side of the cowling and ducted that in also. NO CHANGE!!!
I then checked and found that I wasn't getting enough OIL flow. Do this
my feeling the cooler when you stop ( hard to do in flight :-) ). If it
is hot there is not enough air flow, and if it'd cool there isn't enough
oil flow. I found that the stock Lycoming oil
bypass/themostat/overpressure valve was full of guck. During overhaul,
the valve itself w3as checked and the seat was fine, and the unit then
cleaned and put back. Didn't take it completely apart, so didn't get
the guck out from under the thermostat element. Works fine now, I don't
have a high enough oil temp, but haven't done anything yet to fix that.
Phil, R302, and having fun flying d:-))
