Landing Light Installation in a Tri-Gear
Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:55 pm
Hello Folks
Has anyone building a tri-gear (Elite or SR) installed the MAM supplied landing
light kit? Did you change the angle it is mounted to accomodate the different
ground attitude of the tri-gear?
We are about to do the mounting and other than making the guess that until flare
the light needs to be oriented the same (one of the 2 lamps) but in touchdown &
taxi things will be different. Perhaps there is enough adjustment in the lamp
holders that it doesn't matter?
All MAM was able to suggest was that the lights will have to be aimed
differently since it is a tri-gear. They had no info on installation of the kit
except to state that it was designed to fit the taildragger Rebel (since at that
time no tri-gears were available)...........................
Your suggestions?
Thanks
Dave R.
