Ha! I bought an RV-9 tailkit AFTER I finished my Rebel. Being smart I first
practiced and practiced on scrap pieces. I had all sorts of good advice,
good tools,but..... I could not rivet worth a darn. I tried again, I took a
course, no good. Then this bucking business. I happily sold the tailkit to a
guy that needed it. I would like to turn things around : Is it really
impossible to build one of those RV's with Avirex or even stronger pop
rivets?? The VanGrunsven people say it is. Any comments on this reverse
question? I had no trouble with the Avirex rivets although there still were
some tricks to be learned. Geert Frank

I asked Chris Heintz that question ( not specifically about RVs but
substitution in general). He said that it was OK if additional avex rivets
were used. Problem is I don't remember the formula he gave. It was along the
lines of put 5 avex for every 3 solid but ask him before you take that as
truth.
