Subject: Re: SR Landing Gear Mod
Mike, and ALL !
FWIW, I would put in <every> access plate & hole you think you might
EVER need, while building. You never know when you might have to check
something on a trip, and it's MUCH easier if you already have a cover.
(been there, done that :-( )

OK. I'm dense. I can't quite figure out the landing gear mod. It looks
like it would be clear what to do if you were performing the mod on a
completed airplane. Doing the mod at the right point in new construction is
confusing me. If anyone can help, here are my questions:
Are FUS-87 and FUS-524 parts that are part of the original design or are
they new, as part of the mod?
Can anyone give me an idea of what point in the construction this should be
done?
Is there a good reason for including the access plate described in the mod,
or is the access plate only needed for completed airplanes to get to the
area in question?
Unrelated question: I've looked through all my parts and cannot find
FUS-347, even though my inventory says I have it. These are the float
attach brackets. Does anyone know what alloy, temper, and thickness of
aluminum was used so I can make my own? If it's 6061-T6 I think that is
what I can get at the local metal yard. I want to keep working and don't
want to wait and pay for MAM to send me more.
