I have done the elevator spades as you did. I have not attempted to
re-balance the elevator. I would like to hear what you did in that
regard. I am also planning to round the leading edge of the rudder
spade, but I have not started that project yet. After seeing a
report of rudder flutter on a Moose (significant structural damage,
but a safe landing) and seeing a video of rudder flutter I am
considering adding a balancing weight to the rudder spade. What are
your thoughts on that?
