When cutting the 'J' shaped notches in the angle plates for the #4 rib
stringer cutouts, is the top flange of the angle plate cut out to accomodate
the width of the stringer flange(?),

OR, is the 'J' notch cut out entirely in the side of the angle plate, with
the angle's flange left intact? So that when the angle is slid over the
stringer, the angle's flange is over the stringer's flange?

Hope that makes some sense...

Remove whatever part of the angle flange you need to to clear the stringer.
Also, depending on when you attach the plates to the rib, you might have to
trim a little bit for the flange to clear rivets that are already set in the
bottom wing skin. That's the way it worked for my Super Rebel anyway.

Yes you file down the angle so the top of gusset is flush with the top of
stringer. Don't let the gusset run over the stringer. Hope this helps.
