Hi Tim !

Put them in ! Murphy can ship fairly quickly - a lot easier than
trying to make your own ....

Much better visibility, easy to install, and the fuse side is actually
stronger with them in ! ;-) (Will definitely stop any oil-canning -
as will the skylights) At least 2 overhead skylights, and 2 at back
are very useful .... middle 2 - not so much ... :-)

De-fenestrate now ! Linux is the answer !

Points for putting them in:

Better visibility to the rear quarter.

Quicker to build if I don't fool with the windows.

Lighter

I didn't order any window doublers from Murphy, so I would have to make
something.

Fuse area is stronger without that big hole in it.

So, asking for input from our flying folk, how important/nice is the rear
windows?

RE relative strength, I'm pretty sure the substantial, stamped doubler --
and Lexan, for that matter -- will absorb more crush impact than the .020
skin alone. I have the fuse holes and doublers cut, drilled and sanded --
just have to cut glass & install when we get back from an upcoming trip --
and will probably end up spending 7-8 hrs. total on the rear windows. (Did
I mention, I'm slow?)

Unless a Da Vinci inspired paint design requires a lot of lines and color
in that precise area <g> the only other downside is weight. I expect the
exchange weight will be under 1.5 lbs., including the rivets, and can let
you know after I cut the glass.
