Rear attch fitting on moose is not a tight fit design, there is space
between bracket & fitting. It is not load bearing.... and as it was
explained to me years ago by Darryl " it's just along for the ride". Simply
put.

I assume this means for a 3500 you nip up the rear fitting somehow rather
than bolt it tight !

On my Elite the rear fitting is snug - no room for play fore or aft so a
tight bolt makes sense.

Maybe on the 3500 it has room to move a bit fore and aft ? - not sure -
never seen one :o)

Thanks Nigel & Jeff...

Just doesn't make sense to my thick head <g>. If the front spar fitting is
bolted tight, then the rear spar can't move, or "float" fore-and-aft
between
the FUS-706 fittings. So why not, after fitting the wing per below, and
then tightening up the front spar fitting--then tighten up the rear fitting
(using washers)?

Well, I slid my wing up to the fuselage for the first time and got a shock.
With the front wing fitting hard against the front of the fuselage fitting
there was no way the rear fitting was going to make it.
It looked like the wing fittings were farther apart than the fuselage
fittings. &%#$ how did I screw that up? Taking a look at the problem it
looked like if I moved the front doubler from the inside of the square tube
to the outside like the moose builders have to do it would give me enough
room and it did. But the front wing fitting is hard against the front of
the fuselage fitting to get the rear fitting pinned. I can't remember the
differences between the Moose and Super Rebel about one fitting "floating"
and the other bolted down hard with spacers or whatever. If I put a spacer
on the back of the front wing fitting to fill the gap with the front wing
fitting hard against the front fuselage fitting and the rear fitting bolted
down (won't need any spacers, it's a good fit) is this acceptable? Any
opinions? Thanks in advance guys.

The 3500 upgrade manual says, "Please note the rear spar fittings are not
bolted up tight when fitting the wings. The wing fittings "float" inside
the fuselage fittings."



I assume--please clarify--this means one does not put any washers between
the FUS-706 steel fittings to sandwich the wing rear spar fittings (FUS-713
& 714...also steel).



I've seen folks mount the rear spar with just a bolt (i.e. space either
side
of FUS-713/714 to FUS-706) and seen other folks put enough washers in
between each side of the FUS-713/714 fittings so there is no space
whatsoever.



What is correct per the aircraft design/engineering Darryl?
