[rebel-builders] Seat Rails and Seat Stops

Chances are you don't even need the front stops if you mounted the tracks
per the manual. The seat can't go off the front before the release lever
hits the control column.
Now if you've moved the seat rails back that's another story and you can
just put a small hole horizontally thru the rail web section and install a
safety pin over the rail and it will stop the seat from coming off the
rails. Another option is to drill/tap for an AN3 bolt and spacer,
vertically, into the top of the rail for stops. Mine have held up well for
16 years now.

Subject: [rebel-builders] Seat Rails and Seat Stops
Hello,
I am currently installing the seat rails in my rebel.
According to the manual there have to be seat stops (SA-35) with a size
of 3/4" at the front (to be fixed with AN3 bolts).
If I fabricate my seat stops with the recommended size in 3/4 " the
first bolt hole in the rails will be useless, since the bolts can no
more reach it.
So I see two alternatives:
1 - fabricating the stops with a length of 1/2", so that the bolts when
putting the seat in front can just fit in or
2- leaving the first bolt hole useless
I would prefer option 1 but I fear the seat stop will be to small and
may break.
My question is, how did you solve this? Did somebody encounter the same
issues?
Thomas
