[rebel-builders] Super Rebel/Moose Upgrade

Hi Ted !

Changed the header...

Sorry, I don't have a parts list - there never was a run of upgrade
kits -- not enough orders ! :-(

Everybody just wanted to buy "some" of the parts ....
some thought the complete upgrade was "too expensive", even though
it was less than the difference between old SR-2500 Super Rebel kits
and new SR-3500 Moose kits ....
Now there are a bunch of SR-2750 or SR-2900's out there,
advertised as "Moose" ... :-(

It's a good time to order parts,though, as we are close to
starting a Moose run .... ONLY orders that are actually IN HAND
HERE, at PAS, <BEFORE the start> will go in the run !

Ted,

If one has purchased an SR2500, it is a SR2500.

If one has purchased an SR2500 and then purchased the conversion kit
upgrade designed/engineered by MAM (fuselage, wings, control surfaces and
windshield - approximately 60 + parts to change) then one has a SR3500
(Moose) and you can therefore register the a/c as a SR3500 (Moose) since
you have the paperwork from MAM noting the conversion from SR2500 to SR3500.

Some buyers bought the "Moose" upgrade when it was offered to them, after
there original purchase of the "Super Rebel". Incorporated the changes into
their build as they built.

For one to take a flying SR2500 and incorporate the MAM conversion kit (all
parts) would not be cost effective.

For one to take a flying SR2500 and incorporate MAM's Service Bulletins or
part upgrades as listed on the website does NOT turn your SR2500 into a
SR3500. All you have is a slightly beefier SR2500.

One can call their A/C whatever they like and register the gross weight at
whatever they like. Remember when you want to change from being the
builder, to being manufacturer....... you better be prepared to stand
behind your product on resale and take all responsibilities for design.
Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen if the new owner ever has a
accident or worse.

There are built to spec Moose out there sporting a registered gross weight
of 4000 to 4500 lbs.

I've also seen SR2500's out there for sale...... advertised as Moose
because they did the mods listed on the MAM website.

Buyers be very aware of what you are buying, it might not be what they say
it is.

Jeff: I emailed shipping@murphyair.com. I want to purchase an upgrade kit if
I can get one. I have not received a response yet. I would like to know what
I will be getting along with all of the other necessary particulars. This
project is not started yet. I want to incorporate the conversion into the
build. If PAS is going to sell the upgrade kit, I would like to know what I
will be getting and what is the cost. I do not need another set of wheels to
hang from the wall of my hanger. I build the aircraft as a float plane
because there are not many runways on the Rock. I am hoping to get some
paperwork from MAM soon so I can move forward.

Bruce, as BobP has said.... not enough interest from SR2500 builders to
produce the conn ersion kit. To do a one off kit would be too expensive.
Contact BobP or MAM for details.
