panel: throttle/mixture mount

Any suggestions for throttle/mixture mounts on the Rebel? There's one picture of someone's added ~2" strip below the panel and mention of that in the "Ontario mods". Seems like an unnecessary add-on and there's room to mount these straight into the standard panel. I've not seen or remembered enough examples though. Any recommendations on this and/or adding a center extension downward?

Thanks!

Hi Ben,
I'm starting to wire up my instruments and engine etc, and have made
most of the holes in the panel. There seems to be plenty of room for the
throttle and mixture controls and I have placed them near the centre and
near the bottom. I have also placed controls for cabin and carb heat on the
panel, as well as a small glove box on the far right. I think I might have
to stiffen the panel and/or support some of the cables behind the panel to
stop the panel flexing, but will make that decision after I cleco the glare
shield back in place. I aim to use the Murphy panel for all my instruments,
electrics and controls without adding a strip below it or a console.
Time will tell if it works. Hope that was useful.
Cheers Mike
