Jim,
Welcome to the forum. I live one hour south of Hannibal, MO off Hwy
61 and am building a Super Rebel. A friend nearby, Charlie Eubanks, is
almost complete with his Rebel (building as LSA). Neither are flying, but
you are welcome to take a look. You can also see my progress on

Best,

Hello, Everyone. My name is Jim Woods, and I live in the Davenport, Ia.
area. I currently own a Cessna 172 but am leaning hard towards upgrading to
an amphib rebel. I would like to know if there is anyone flying a rebel
around here or in the process of building one. I would love to take a ride
in one or talk to someone with experience flying one. My 172 is down
currently awaiting an annual insp. but once that's done I wouldn't be
opposed to traveling to take a close look at a Rebel. Thanks, Jim

Jim,
I'm up in north central MN and have a Rebel kit along with the amphib kit. Mine is far from being done though. There is a very nice guy in WI. that has a rebel. Si Smith has a georgous yellow Rebel that is usually at Oshkosh along with his sons Rebel. His son has sold his and moved on to a much bigger plane. I flew in Si's plane and was very impressed with its handling qualities. Actually I also have a 172 and had flown it on The Fall Colors Tour and this is where I had met Si.
There is also a guy in Brainard MN that has a Rebel on straight floats for sale. It has been listed on Barnstormers. Not sure why it hasn't been sold because it sure is priced right. ALthough I have not seen it the only down side to it that I can think of is it may be 'underfloated'. It has an O-320 but floated with 1500's.
If you get up this way please stop in. I am located on the east side of Itasca State Park, north of Park Rapids, MN. I have a strip at my place but not sure if you want to land your 172 on it. 1000' of good grass with another 7-800 feet that I have recently cleared and filled but not planted yet. I land my Champ and Rans S-7 on it and keep them here in the hanger but my 172 is in Park Rapids.
Regards,
Keith
