[rebel-builders] doubler for forward skylights - eyebrows

Per prior discussions on this issue, I used .040.

Although I used lighter gauge at first, with same results you observe, I
think the best procedure for those who haven't started this already would be
to roll some .040 for a doubler, drill rivet pattern in the doubler, place
doubler on fuse to match drill the rivet line holes, then cut out the
eyebrow hole in the doubler, match to fuse, and finally cut the eyebrow hole
in the fuse. Seems to me that would be the best way to end up with the least
distortion when finally assembled.

Any thickness will work if you can roll your stock to match the roof
curve BEFORE you cut out the doubler.

Roland, et. al.:

I did something a bit different for the eyebrow windows (SR becoming Moose). I opened the space between the two to make a long window across the entire area. The ends I wrapped with .025 doublers. I then ran some rectangular 1" x 1/2" tubing lengthwise on the fore and aft sides of the new opening. This served two purposes, one being making for stout edges on the long run, the other being that it made an excellent chase to run wiring for different purposes through that area and keep it all tidy. Someone earlier posted some pictures of what I did. It is a great look, functional and stout.

Hi Roland

We had some corner wrap left over and used that as the doubler. Seems to
have worked fine..Time will tell.
