Dale.. just a shot in the dark. Is this a new problem and all was fine and
now the TB is causing interference on the radio after years of non issue??
Possible it's a brush driven TB and it's time for overhaul. Worn brushes are
causing the RF issue to the radio?

If you ask this question on the aeroelectric list or peruse their
archives I believe you will conclude that there is about a zero chance
of shielded wiring to the T&B helping you. OTOH it may help if the power
and ground wires run parallel or are twisted together. Shielded wire
tends to force you to run parallel power and ground wires which is what
actually cancels much of the radiated noise. For the heck of it I would
try a couple of different size capacitors at the T&B if rewiring is
difficult. Some folks have even had to wrap the T&B with mu metal for
magnetic shielding. The archives there or the Aeroelectric book will
have detailed directions how to determine what the noise propagation
mode is and then how to stop it. That is your best bet for chasing down
noises.

Of course do confirm that the headphone jacks are not grounded which
pretty much eliminates any likely ground loop issues. Insulated washers
are available or some of us just mount the jacks in a piece of plastic.
It is common to use shielded wire to the headset jacks but it is by no
means essential.

Dale:

I used a filter in-line going to my radio. You can go to Auto Parts
and get a filter to use on your car stereo. Put this in line with your
radio/intercom and it will clean up the power and block the hum.

Thank You,
