flap cable, handle and connections

Post by Roland Kriening » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:54 pm

Test fitting the Teleflex flap cable today. A couple of things the manual is
not clear on, perhaps someone can provide guidance.

1. connection to flap handle - there must be space between the flap handle
and the flap guide (CC-80) to allow for movement of the cable and
turnbuckle, but should a bushing or washers be used. I currently have a
bushing in place temporarily, but am thinking that is not right. Please see
my picture. http://www.nuvis.ca/rebelphoto/rebel-56 ... 45.jpg.php

2. connection of Teleflex cable to flap control arm - there is about 1/4
inch space between the control arm and the doubler on the fuselage. Not
really enough space for the turnbuckle to fit in and move. Please see pic.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive, and offering great suggestions.
This group is invaluable. I am trying new photo sharing software, so
hopefully you are able to see the pics.
