I have pics of the process, which I did back in June, on my site. See
http://n254mr.com, search for "drain grommets". Cut holes in D shape
(assuming seaplane-type), apply 2-3 coats of Poly Tack under, 8-10 min
apart, apply drain, put dollar patch over top, a coat of pink, shrink patch,
especially edges, then 3 more coats of pink, then silver.

Hi all

Does anyone have pics of their flap drains, poly fibre says to cover with
strip of fabric, I forgot to install and have sprayed the silver protective
coat on the flaps, do I know have to remove all of it to glue the drain on
with polytack

Fantastic, thanks very much ron, looks great, did not guess to cut hole in
dollar patch, thought it would just go right over top

Cheers

The photos from that search aren't the best. I think I have some more I'll
try to get posted.

To cut the hole in the dollar patch, fold them in half. Like everything else
in the &#$@! plane, I had to make several of these before I got them right,
with holes reasonably well centered, etc.

Apologies if stating the obvious but melting the final (or all) of the
holes with a soldering pencil or hot nail is recommended. It can be the
last thing or even after painting.
