[rebel-builders] Rudder lock

On floats.. I put a piece of the 3/8" plastic hydraulic line thru the pedal
tubes. Does the trick, or at least it has so far. For those with dual brakes
I make a slip over affair that is two bent pieces of sheet attached by a
tube that slip over the two centre pedals... with a string attached to hook
to the throttle so it's not forgotten.

If you want to put something over the rudder itself Garry... just two pieces
of strapping with some carpet/felt on them attached to a 2" spacer block at
one end and a threaded rod/wing nut at the other end to tighten down at the
trailing edge.

What are people using for an effective rudder lock in windy conditions?
There does not seem to be anything in the archives.

Thanks Wayne. FOKM is on floats most of the time so the first idea fits the
bill.
Good idea.

1) Somewhat as Wayne suggested, I've seen some made from shock cord inside
PVC pipe inside foam pipe insulation.

2) The Airgizmos commercial gust lock will fit between vertical stabilizer
and rudder tip:
