Hi all My name is ray and I live in Seattle and recently bought a Rebel in
California and flew it up north to Arlington. I have been lurking on the board
and searching the archives to glean specific knowledge about these planes
which I have coveted over the years.n-2293c has the spring gear and a 290
with a 4blade warp drive prop.I had spoken to Bob Patterson about this plane
and he thought it might have issues and I sort of cooled it for a while but did
take the plunge as it was the only rebel I was going to be able to afford. It
flys good and the motor makes good power, all is well for now. My main ? to
the group is what is the current thinking about landing gear, and is there a
source for some real hardy bungee gear and how big a deal would it be? I
have more ? of course and am trying to hook up with Steve Sloan who is on
the field and highly recommended as a person and Rebel guy but have not
caught up to him yet. I,m practicing my landings w/o flaps for now as I only
have a simple up down switch and no indicator, this is the current # one thing
to fix and I hope to figure out exacly what I need to make the flaps practical
to use. I better stop here...Ray
