Hey Jesse!

You won't find much new on my site. I;m having some trouble with the host
site building software and may be switching to another program. Too bad, to
because I have lots of good photos.

The tires are 29 ABW's and I used Grove 6" wheels with double puck brakes.
They hold me at full power on grass. The caliper clearance is tight for me
also and I looked at a PA-12 with 31's and it looked the same. Maybe the
flex happens at the bottom?

Start!

Craig, did you get the 29 airstreaks or the standard bushwheels? Are you
using the Murphy wheels and brakes? With my 850s I have very little
clearance between tire sidewall and brake caliper, and I was wondering if
that is an issue with the bushwheels. I'm thinking of getting the 26 or29
airstreaks.

On Sunday last we had the rebel weighed. Through the whole thing I've
been hoping for 1050 lbs knowing I had the large tires, heavier motor and
had done substantial beefing. It came out 1050 exactly! What are the
odds?
I must have willed it to weigh that much as I was building! So, 29"
ABW's, 0360, 8 lb tail wheel and all the normal mods plus a few of my own.
CG is more forward than I'd have liked at 9.3. That's to be expected with
the battery up there as well.

Also today we started the engine for the first time. Once it was primed
it started right up and later I took it taxiing (?) down the strip and
back to break the brakes in. It's very exciting stuff to see it move and
to make it move! First flight in August! Craig
