Torque tube through cabin

Post by Roland Kriening » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:54 pm

I am just installing the torque tube running through the cabin. As per the
instructions the tube is in two sections 40 1/4 and 5 3/8. When I
temporarily install everything including the hangar (which is in the right
place according to plans) there is a 1" discrepancy between what is
extending outside of the fuselage. On the pilot's side I have 2" of the
torque tube showing, whereas on the passenger side I have 1" showing. I
realize there will be spacers to take up the gap between the control horns,
but the discrepancy has me a bit concerned. As I have yet to test mount the
wings with the tube installed, I wondered if this is normal.

Just thought I would check with others before I get too far into this.
