Progress!!!

We found the bad guys! Finally found were all the messages were hiding that
the system was sending out to everyone... long story, but I deleted 6820
more messages that were addressed to every member of the list! So I guess
things could have been a lot worse than they were. I still feel absolutely
terrible for what happened though. I've already had a couple of people
request to be removed from the list because of this, and I sure hate to see
people go because of problems like this. Anyway, I've sent copies of the
offending messages to the company that wrote the software and am waiting to
hear back from them.
Other than the mailing list (since that what we're most interested in),
everything on the new system appears to be running quite well. I still
haven't started to make it pretty yet, but anyone who's interested in
checking it out please feel free to do so. Go to:
http://www.wins.dcsol.com:81 and log in with username: "rebel" and password:
"builder".
This account will allow multiple logins, so more than one person can use it
at a time. You can log in with your web browser, or for those who aren't
afraid to play around... download the "Wildcat Navigator" and connect to
"bbs.wins.dcsol.com" using winsock. As things progress I'll put together
instructions so anyone can use the Wildcat Navigator no matter what their
level of computer expertise. Not that any current builders probably have
the time, but those flying might be interested in the multimedia casino on
the system... play blackjack, roulette, or video poker, and chat with
others... :-) Hey, it's there, I figured I'd let you know. You do have to
have Wildcat Navigator to play at the casino. Anyone can use the chat room
though, even with just a browser... the first time you chat it takes a
couple of minutes for the java files to download.
Once logged in, click on "Messaging" on the left to access the message area,
here you'll see "Murphy Aircraft", once you click on that you'll see the
individual lists. Not only can you view the archived messages here, but you
can also reply or enter new messages right on these pages in your browser.
Remember though for right now, we aren't actually using this system for the
list... we still have to find out why it went haywire over AOL's accounts.
