Charlie,

I bought my planetary bearing from a fellow who used to make them,
named something like Eddie Tohikian (sp?). I don't know if he's still
around or has any left -- mine was one of the last over 4 yrs ago --
but I'll try to find his correct last name and a contact address for
you. The bearing can be seen at http://n254mr.com/node/1749

Thanks for the info on the planetary vs. spherical bearing for elevator
travel. I am aware of Wayne's procedure of using the steel tube to obtain
max rotation. About a year &

I can't tell you much about the innards of this planetary gear, but
thanks to Google, I did find Eddy Tohikian on Facebook (!) and sent
him a message inquiring if he has any more of them. It's probably a
long shot, but I will let you know what I hear. If he doesn't have
any, I'll ask if plans are available.

It works great. The only downside is it was about $90 five years ago,
and it's a little hefty.

Thanks for all your effort I know you have your hands full getting ready for
Oshkosh. Your right about it being a little pricy so don't spend a lot of
time on it. I have the machinery to build one but I will try Wayne's
procedure first.

Just heard back from Eddy T., already. [Wow, what a world we live in.]
He's moved on to an RV-8. No bearings left, only made a few, says he
gave blueprints to Murphy, hoping they'd use it in kits, but... not.

Charlie, Waynes method works great, I have the same elevator travel as you
and plenty of extra movement/swivel in the rod ends. Cheers Mike

Mike
I plan to try Waynes method first, just wanted to make sure I had other
options.
Thanks
