[rebel-builders] Roof plate (protection plastic issue).

I would keep it .020
However it is recommended to put doublers around at least the forward
eyebrow windows to avoid cracks. Yes the windows do stiffen the roof
whether or not you use doublers. I only used doublers on the eyebrows.
Reports of roof oil canning are rare as far as I know and I'm not sure
that a thicker skin would help that anyway. The only other consideration
that comes to mind is that adding enough support to make a walkway
across the fuselage for fueling when on floats would be handy sometimes,
but again a thicker skin is unlikely to help that.

Hello all,

I have to replace my rooftap plate after all.
The problem with the protection plastic can't be solved without serious
damage on the plate. It seems the plastic had to much UV-radiation in all
these years.

Does anybody know if it is usefull to make this topplate thicker then original?
Original the topplate is 0.020". A 0.025"or even a 0.032" plate does make the
top stiffer ecspecially when placing windows. (or do the windows make the
topplate stiffer?).

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,
