SG0023, brake line route spring gear

Hi all, I'm about routing the brake lines down the legs and have SG 0023
trailing edge material which looks as if it must fit on the trailing edge
of the spring gear leg to cover/protect the brake line. Is that right? And
if so. how should SG0023 be fixed to the leg? Not wanting to drill holes,
and quick ties wouldn't look nice?
What has been done before?
