Perhaps the door under the wing is the problem, your disrupting the
clean air flow for over 2 bays ??

does anyone have a cure for flying with the door open and avoiding the
"shakes"?

I converted my Rebel to gull wing doors. I have a latch pin to hold the
door open against the bottom of the wing so the door remains in place.
I installed a solid plywood bulkhead at the second bulkhead point behind

the seats.

There is a constant shaking and bad yaw if I attempt to fly with the
door open.

I have not tried opening both doors. Usually the shaking is so bad that
I cannot convince the passenger that opening that door would be a good
thing. They are usually "asking" me to close my door.

You are right - just open the other door !! :-)
There will still be some buffet, but at least it will be
balanced. ;-)

It's the same with opening windows - better with
both open. (NEVER better with WinDoze !! ;-) )

Perhaps something to stiffen all the panels in the fuselage, insulation,
make sure tail cone is not leaking air through it, etc
know others have flow with doors off so there must be answers out there,
maybe on the web site

Some of the "jumper" planes add a small deflector at the normal hinge point,
2 or 3" and mounted at about 30* - 45* to the fuselage.

I've found in "test flying" that you can concentrate on what the airplane/systems are doing when there isn't a "high frequency noise generator" in the other seat :) !
