That said...Tyler, why on earth would you want to bring that maintenance
headache into an otherwise simple to maintain aircraft.

And all that extra weight. Better to go for a 360 or 375 if you just want
extra power. Less weight than a turbo charger.

One of local guys here put a turbo on his 360 floatplane (I think a PA22
clone). Had a lot of problems with it, and I think he blew a cylinder with
it too. But he said it really helped get him out of the high alpine lakes.

/ I agree--the turbo IO-320 is a lot to maintain. The Diemech Turbine TJ
100A has way fewer parts, produces 247 lbf thrust, and weighs only 45.4
pounds.

If yer gonna go nuts, you might as well go completely nuts!

An amphib 360 (I have one) won't and probably not a 375. One of the locals
has an amphib Elite with a 375, and he is OK. Another amphib Rebel here is
switching out his 320 for a 375.

Speed is not why we use more powerful engines. It is so we can fly more
safely in and out of the higher alpine lakes. Remember too, you just need to
throttle back to go slower.

Where are you located, Tyler?
