Hello fellow builders, last year I bought 233R and am presently putting an
0-320 into it. I'm looking to put it onfloats(float attach points already
installed) there seem to be more 2000 floats on the used market than
1800's.Is it possibble or adviseable to put 2000's on my rebel.

Hi Bruce, I've seen the floats on the web site but was wondering if you have flown them and what you thought of them.

Rick: I have been using Full Lotus floats since 1995. They are not as good
looking as traditional aluminum floats but your plane will get into good
fishing places that would damage aluminum floats. I will send you some
pictures. You can call me at 1 709 685 1858. If you want to use your rebel
out in the bush you will like the 2150 full lotus floats. Pictures on
separate email.

[rebel-builders] Re:

by Bruce Rose
Keith: A number of years ago a group of us flew from Newfoundland to
Labrador in four Rebels. One was on Murphy 1800 straight floats. One on
anphibs and two on full lotus. We stayed visual the whole way. I was using a
warp drive propeller at that time. I am using a borer prop now and my air
speed is slower due to the pitch that I has chosen. I can get off the water
quicker than 1800 murphy floats because I have more buoyancy and less
resistance to getting on the step. The selling point is duribility after
hitting rocks. Fish are usually in places that damage floats and small ponds
that challenge your take off skills are usually shallow. Now there's a topic
that can eat up a lot of email.
