I've just found out I am short of material particulary ST28 and ST31
channels, does anyone out there have spare material and will they part
with it. I figure it will be quicker and cheaper than requesting from
Murphy. I will be attending the next Rebel builders group meeting on
Jan 14 at Brampton so hopefully some one could bring along to that
meet.
Thanks in anticipation

Mike, don't forget that you can use the 12 (.025" thick) cut offs from all
the square cabin area bulkheads for the channels that go under the seat
rails areas, to make what MAM supplied you "stretch" a bit! Running short on
the .020 - ST 31 was a problem in all the kits around the #230/240 numbers
and MAM had no problem supplying us with enough to complete the job, since
it should have been supplied in the first place. Unless of course you have
done something extra with it that's not spelled out in the manual! The ST28
is the stab/fin spar .032 material, that I presume you want to do your door
sills with. It was never supplied with the kit for this purpose, so would be
an extra expense from MAM (or you can shear and brake your own if you have
access to the equipment or a local sheet metal shop (most heating and
ventilation outfits have a shear and a brake). Maybe someone will have some
leftovers for you from their kit, but I really doubt anyone has any extra
unless they didn't bother to install the rear tailcone inner floor.

Wayne, Thanks for the input. I really need the ST28 for the Seat belt
rail on the floor. I should mention that despite best attempts to
always measure two or three times and cut once, I screwed up and cut
what I had short. As you mention for the other areas I could make do
with offcuts of the square cabin area bulkheads which I still have. I
looked at this and thought they were a little less on the width than
the st31, but maybe it doesnt matter that much? Hopefully someone out
there will have a piece of ST28 long enough for me to get out the seat
belt rail. I did not strengthen the door sills with ST28.

Hi Group

I have the old Rebel tips originally supplied with the aircraft if anyone
wants them. I could bring them to the next Rebel meeting. Anybody could
have them. I am not sure why they would want them compared to David Fife's
tips but they are there for the asking.

Mike,
It may be cheaper but I doubt you can get any better service than Elaine at MAC. If
she has it in stock, which I would guess that she has you will get it real quick. I get
stuff in the Boston ,MA area in about 1 week even with comstoms. The other option is to
borrow some from someone and replace it later. I have done that with another builder in
my area and it works well.
Bye,
Rick D.
