Steve Bowley in Phoenix built a V8 Moose 5-6 years ago. It’s apparently very nice. I had an email dialog with him back in September of 2006 and he was very receptive of sharing his experience. You may want to look him up (I have his contact info if you want to email me directly). Of course, Bob P. also was testing the Robinson V8, so I’m sure you can get some info on that as well.

Thanks for the feedback Dick. I already have the engine, mount, gearbox and prop assemblies......so it is a matter of finding a cowling set up that will work with my configuration. I will check on the Murphy Lyc. cowling and see if that may work for my application, as well as touch base with Bud.
Thanks much!......Ray.

About 3 years ago I saw a beautiful V-8 Chevy set up in a running mock-up
ith a constant speed prop. I was drooling over it. It was supposed to fit
n a Murphy Lyc cowl. You might find it helpful to check in with Bud at the
ddress below. His set up was complete with motor mount ready to bolt on.
upply your own Prop and Governor, hook it up and run it. The gear box
ooks bullet-proof & his design eliminates any harmonics.

ello Rebel builders. I am new to the group, having recently purchased a
uper Rebel, which has since been completely disassembled and is now headed
n the direction of becoming a Moose. I appreciate being able to monitor
he ongoing conversations that are of interest in a number of areas.
As a part of my Moose conversion, I am looking for a source for a well
esigned fiberglass cowling for the V8 application that I will install in my
ircraft. Would appreciate any direction to good sources and feedback that
ny of you have to offer.
I am not sure if my email address is displayed since I may be being Bcc'd on
ommunications so here is for future communications:

Thanks.
