Drilling Moose stinger for Alaska Bushwheel

Ok guys, I talked to my machine shop instructor at SAIT yesterday. He says we can drill it using an end mill chucked in the big industrial mill/drill we have in the lab. I tried to explain how dense and hard the 4340 heat treated steel is and he looked at me with the look of "boy, I've been doing this for twenty years...trust me"!

So, I am taking my stinger in Thursday evening. The good news is that even though the Alaska Bushwheel holes are spaced further apart, the mounting bolt size is larger (AN5) so we can get away with this operation. The mill/drill will allow us to clamp the stinger in place and the end mill cutter won't try to curve into the existing hole like a drill bit.

I'll report back after Thursday. -Jason
