Thanks Tom.. very timely as we just delivered Jennifer back to her apartment
in Toronto, and Leah and I just walked in our door. She wants to go to work
tomorrow and thursday.. as finally feeling not bad 15 days after her first
chemo and eating again (She dropped from 90 lbs to 77 after the first week..
we have her back up to 84.5 as of tonight). Of course she's feeling better
just in time to start her next round of chemo on Monday.. which goes for the
full week, in on Monday and out Saturday. Then three weeks later in for her
overnight chemo again Monday/Tuesday and three weeks later the full week
treatment. Repeat... total of 10 treatments (5 of each). Good thing is there
are already signs the chemo is working...she's pretty much right off her
Hydromorphone pain killers. For someone her size she was taking 18mg a
day... she's down to 6 and by weeks end she says she's going to stop taking
them all together. Somewhere thru the chemo treatments she gets another PET
scan and they will determine when they are doing surgery to remove part or
all of her right pelvic bone and hip socket..... before it sounded like
maybe, but now it sounds pretty definite as her PET scan showed the cancer
had crept to her hip socket. Possibly radiation at the end of all this...
Thanks again for the note... we'll take anything positive we can get to help
keep us there ourselves!

Wayne,
I too am a cancer survivor and understand all the difficult challenges
ahead. I am Cancer free for nine years now (Hodgkin's Lymphoma).
A very good friend of mine had Ewing's sarcoma about 12 years ago. He
beat it and is a very healthy and happy person. There are many successes
with cancer, these days. I hope this gives you a some light on the
journey you are on.
Wish all the best for you and your family.
Tom Tonner
