Tail fairings 818R

Post by mikeh » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:05 pm

Hi all,
Have done the bottom stab/fuse fairings mostly and can see how to
finish off at the forward end I think. Started the first upper stab/fin
fairing the other day and will probably scrap it in a day or two! But I'm
learning, and will continue with it for a little. I'm having trouble with
the transition from a downward curve at the front over the fuse, to an
upward 90 degree bend at the rear, as well as not having measured the
curved distance between the fin and stab accurately at the front. Also
didn't see that the 90 degree bend at the rear is important to align the
flanges with the bottom fin bulkhead so the screws can pass through the
bulkhead and the flange.
I'll hopefully stumble upon a solution but any advice/observations
will be greatly appreciated and might shorten the build time significantly!
Thanks again and Cheers Mike
