I am installing the doublers on the firewall as per Wayne's bullet proof
firewall. I noticed in looking at Roger Hoffman's pics that he did not
install the ST31 channel across the front of the firewall. Does the
installation of the doublers remove the need for the channel?

I asked Roger about this and he told me he didn't install the top cross channel because the eng mount he used incorporated that into it's design. CW

[rebel-builders] ST 31 Channel across firewall

That could be Craig - remember that he used a custom
engine mount for his IO-240 Continental, not a factory mount,
and may have been able to incorporate a cross tube between
the top 2 engine mounts with that setup ....

For standard engines, I would still add the channel - it's
not a lot of weight, to avoid a damaged firewall later ...
