[rebel-builders] RE: fus 11 side panels - when to rivet

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Sounds like many variations. I still
cant find the rivet spacing for the rivets on the fus 11, door hinge, etc.
Perhaps missing a page. Normally 1" spacing, but some are saying that is too
much. A bit of confusion on my part... but that is fairly normal:))

Hi Roland,
As the previous comments say, take your time. I've rivetted mine but
am leaving the firewall cleco'd for access to the panel.
I was hoping to use the same rivets for the fus 11 and the door hinge
but that wasn't possible so I have used flush rivets for the fus 11 in the
hinge area so the hinge can lie over the fus 11 rivets when I get there.
Sound as if we are fairly close together, I've just started to cleco
the cabin floor in place so it can be finally, irrevocably
rivetted............and hoping I haven't forgotten anything important.
Still with a few jobs to do in front of the carry throughs.

Roland,

Your not missing a page. The suggestion of closer (inter-spaced rivets)
is made from various people including employees of MAM as a way to
improve the strength of this area. What is meant is to double up the
rivet pattern in the manual with rivets in between in a kind of zig-zag
pattern. This pattern is done to help avoid the zipper effect of really
closely spaced rivets.
(Ron's site has a picture of the area http://n254mr.com/node/1570)
