[rebel-builders] O320 or O360 for the Elite tailwheel?

Post by Dick Wampach » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:31 pm

How about an O-360 with an electronic ignition and a tuned exhaust? That
should cover all the bases.

I made a tuned system for the Moose, it fits so nicely. Try
www.aircraftexhaust.net 1-800-770-7287 out of Minnesota for some ideas and
how to make a mock-up for them to use as a pattern for fabrication.

Hi All

My building partner and I have purchased an Elite from Tulsa. It is in
transit to New Zealand at the moment, looking forward to its arrival. We are
going through the process at the moment of deciding what power plant and
should we go down the EFIS track? Any comments/suggestions.? I have been
told an O320 tuned with electronic ignition will produce close to that of an
O360 with a tuned exhaust. We plan to use the aircraft in the backcountry.

Cheers

If you plan on putting it on amphibs go with the 360.
