When an STC is developed it takes into account the entire fuel system and operating conditions specific to that (certified) aircraft which is a known entity. Under cowl temps, for example, can affect suitability for auto fuel which generally has a lower vapor pressure than 100LL. Another issue is seals and gaskets in the fuel system. I have not heard MAM comment on supplied components suitability for alchohol fuels. Finally, none of the STC's permits usage of any alchohol in the fuel. That is not to say that some alchohol will not be tolerated, just a caution that you are on your own.

We here in the US may be faced with 15% alchohol as the gubmint tries to maintain a way to force the output from the subsidized alchohol producers into the fuel stream to make up for the fact that folks are driving less. Rotax has recently approved 10% ethanol for the 912 series but the remainder of the fuel system is still in question. All in all, bad fuel and bad policy!
