Hi Jean !

Sorry to hear that news ! We heard of Ray's accident from the
Oshkosh newspaper - first year he missed OSH since about 1958 ....
a fall from his wheelchair, concussion, and other injuries. The article
said he was recovering, in spite of the prognosis, and we all hoped
he would be back.

Anyone who met Ray Fiset will miss his smiles and kind assistance.
We had the pleasure of his company at the Murphy Builders Get-together
at Sun-n-Fun this year, where he brightened the evening for several
of us.

He will be missed.

Sorry to hear of the loss of a good friend and member of the homebuilder
community.

A good friend of mine, Ray Piendel, passed away several months ago at age
97.

Ray served as crew chief on C-47 cargo haulers and glider tow aircraft
during WWII. This year's gathering of C-47s and DC-3s was a fitting memorial.
Ray was never a pilot or homebuilder but his love of aviation and his trips
to Oshkosh kept the flame of aviation alive in his heart right to the end.

Here's raIsing our glass to all the great aviators of years past. We miss
you.
