I meant this to go to the list. Sooner or later, I'll get this right. :-/

[quote]Eric,

Thanks for your [off list] note below, and the call that followed last
night. Here I am, having just wrecked one gear leg, wheel and tire, and
you've not only offered to loan me your own complete gear while you're on
floats, but your wife Veronica (also a pilot) has offered to fly me and the
gear to Arlington in your 182 while you have to be at work, just to get me
flying again, and my Rebel back home, ASAP. I am overwhelmed by your
kindness.

I hope you'll forgive this further response via the list -- because I know
you would never want any sort of recognition, nor do I really even mean to
single you and Veronica out for praise, however well deserved (others have
also offered help) -- but rather because I want everyone to know what kind
of incredible community we are privileged to be a part of here! No words
suffice to respond to such generosity, except to say sometimes even big boys
have reason to get choked up and misty eyed.

I do have to fix the wing tip, outermost flaperon rib and make a new tip
rib before the plane can be airworthy. (Brought those home last night.)
Perhaps in the time that takes, or some of it, a leg will turn up. If I get
to where the plane is close to being otherwise flyable and still haven't
found a leg, I may take you up on your unbelievably generous offer,
temporarily. I can only hope someday I'll have a chance to return the favor,
or at least to pay forward to someone else.

I've known for a long time it's really a great privilege to build and fly a
Rebel. I am still learning it's a far greater gift, and honor, to have such
friends.
