Ha ! I knew it ! We are a mopar family with a 72 Small Block
Challenger, and a (unfinished) 78 Lil Red Express Truck... ! My Daily
driver is a mildly tuned 15 PSI turbo II Dodge Shadow....(small, zippy,
economical, and causes young college dudes in mustangs to frown ..BOOO-yaa
! ) Kathy's LHS is, well, comfortable...and sorta zippy..

I have found Mr. Dixon on-line, and we are both trying to meet sometime in
the near future....Nice guy, Kathy & I look forward to milling over his reb
a bit.....

Louis, Cars were my first addiction, that took up most of my time (and
money)! I use to "Bracket" race over in Luskville Quebec, as a
Teen. I still
have a 1969 Dodge "Superbee" 383 Magnum - 4gear, ramcharger hood
etc. 56,000
miles (my Dad bought it new) and a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner
"Superbird" 440
Super Commando - Automatic 54,000 mile, that I have had for 12
years. I also
bought my wife a 1964 Corvette for our tenth anniversary, 8 1/2 years ago.
Then I got into aircraft and ever since my cars have pretty much sat on
frame stands, with the suspension hanging! I do have to say though, I have
yet to (personally) fly an airplane as fast as I have driven my
Superbee. I
got radared one night as a teen, at 182 M.P.H. between North Gower and
Smiths Falls, Ontario (actually just outside the entrance to the Smiths
Falls airport of all coincidental places) Luckily, the cop (that I stopped
for) was the father of the girl I was going out with at the time! He
"scolded" me and told me to pick his daughter up with my fathers
other car,
the next time I came by their house. The other car was a 1976 Fury Sport,
with a 400 - 4bbl, that went almost as fast!

You should look up Charles Dixon (and his Rebel), you being in Mississippi
and all! He is in Brookhaven, when he isn't spending months at a
time out on
the oil rig.

Sorry to bust your "bubble" Bruce!

I am definitely "one of you"! Weeeell maybe I was "one of you",
back when I
was building in my 2 car garage in 1993/4, as after 7+ years of this
Rebel
"ADDICTION" I have 3 large roller cabinets full of tools. I can't
honestly
say that there was ever a tool, that I needed, that I didn't go
out and buy!
Now in my 1800 Sq Ft work shop, I also have the "niceties" of a 4 foot
pneumatic shear, an 8 foot brake, 2 drill presses, a TIG
welder and the
other power necessities (grinder, bandsaw, etc). I also have a lathe
available to use over in my Plastic plants maintenance crib. In
the hanger,
I have a walk behind pallet truck (12 foot lift) that allows me to
remove
and install wings by myself and a 50 foot long beam with 2
trolleys/chain
falls for lifting aircraft onto and off of floats. The only
thing I have
been looking for lately is a 3 in 1 machine for the shop, but any sold
around here seem to be junk. I may have to settle for a separate
mill and a
small lathe. It sure is a good thing that my wife is one of the
few women I
know of that is not a compulsive spender, because I have always done
more
than enough of that for both of us!

Wayne,

We should all feel sorry foe you, using old beat up equipment,
and buy you
a
new gun if only for a spare, after all you have done for us want to be
plane
mechanic/pilots building our Rebels and Elite. After all, I
envisioned you
in
this aircraft shop that would rival anything the Yanky Workshop
might have
to
offer a wood worker. Now that you've blown that image I'll just have
to
think
of you as one of us!!!
