electrical quick connects

My source is West Marine in the US for electrical wiring items. The reason is that boats are subject to the same environmental attacks our airplanes are. Corrosion is the issue! Some of the terminals at West Marine incorporate heat shrink to make them waterproof at the wire connection. Another helpful product is Liquid Electrical Tape. It is a gooey (think ProSeal) material that is painted on connections to seal them. Disconnects - either bullet or spade - should have overlapping plastic shields to avoid shorts. Don't forget some spiral wrap or other chafe preventer where movement / abrasion is possible. Finally, just before plugging the connector together squirt a little bit of Corrosion X in each side. Only a tiny bit inside the connector!

May your electrons never desert you!
