[rebel-builders] Fus 9 L

119R came with a matched pair. Both the same size. I made new ones with
the top rear extending farther aft rather than adding the "float fix"
bulletin doublers that the bulletin says to do on all Rebels. I don't
know whether the originals had the 5 degree bend but you will need the
bend as I recall.

are the triangular pieces forward of the doors. They both have the forward
bend (for the windshield I assume) but the Fus 9l is larger and has a 5
degree bend one inch from the door attach point. The fus 9r is completely
flat other than the forward bend. Logic seems to tell me that these parts
should be the same shape, just reversed ??? Plans make no mention of the
difference. I hope this is not yet another mismatched part from the early
kits.

Thanks Ken,

What thickness material did you use?

If you are around on Saturday, I would like to take some more pics of your
Rebel, to help me out during the build. You can reach me off line at

Same thickness 0.062"
It would seem to be the same bend radius as the main wing spar but it is
thick enough to a bit difficult to bend.

Roland,

You are correct. Fus 5 are L & R, they should be mirror images of each other. I put mine on a couple of months ago on 175R and they were correct. They must have missed trimming and bending one of yours.

Hi Curtis,

So the correct shape would be a 90 degree bend on the forward end and a 5
degree bend (on the back ) where it attaches to the door post?
