Thank you to all the guys who forwarded their weight figures. It was

Had some fun splash'in about this morning.

3.5* throat is looking good so far. (Well after I motor boated around
the lake on the step to get used to the nose so high). It breaks the
water around 41 knots. Takeoff distance seemed pretty good but I did
have at least 5 knots of wind.

Climb at close to gross was 570 fpm which corrects to about double the
minimum required.

Now we're having fun :)

Have fun Ken!!!

Remember to let it run a few plane lengths at neutral stick before pulling
back to get up on step.. otherwise you will delay your take off as the back
spreader bar will bury under water.

OK I uploaded two pics.

Tried using cylindrical boat bumpers on a dock but they float too high
and want to rest on the side skins instead of the chine. Unless someone
has a better product or idea I will try punching a hole in them and
partly filling them with water. That would allow draining them after use.

At heavy weights I seem to be burning 19 liters per hour (5 usgph) at
about 88 mph. (4400 rpm and 22"MAP on the soob) That's about 15% or so
higher burn than on wheels at similar weight. After a couple of tweaks I
will see how it is at higher power. Haven't changed the prop.
