[rebel-builders] carburator bits

Garry, this is probably not your problem, but thought I would mention a situation I had once with my 320 carb. It is possible to install the bowl and have the mixture cut off out of position. I did that a long time when doing some troubleshooting, with the result being unable to properly shut off the fuel at the carb. Solution was simply to reinstall the bowl taking care to make sure the mixture goes into the right hole.

I've got a Marvel-Schebler MA-4SPA part# 10-3678-12 on my O-320. I'm
having a bit of trouble with idle cutoff and it seems to be leak-by
associated with the mixture barrel/window-sleeve/window components. I
can't find the part numbers on this part - anyone know how to find same?

Have you checked to see if your primer check valve is seated? It will

Or if there is some dirt in there not allowing it to seat properly. I had that problem once, too. It was actually Wayne here on this list that correctly diagnosed that one. My symptoms had to do with a rough running engine, though, not a problem shutting down.

Thanks Charlie. If I don't get anywhere with the thread I'm following I
will chase that one. The article below suggests that would cause plug
fouling and other problems before this cutoff issue so I'll keep it in mind.

Gary,
The information came from my Precision Carburetors Manual. I don't know of a
source right now but you might try A.E.R.O. 1-800-362-3044 or El Reno
Aviation 405-262-2387.

I take that back. ACS has it for $79.85 but no info on it at all so I
