usable fuel data

FYI - Did usable fuel test on 254R this morning. After filling each tank
with 2 gal., draining the tanks in flight attitude left a total of 1.75 gal.
in the tanks. With the tail down at ground attitude, additional draining
left 0.75 gal. total in the tanks. Fuel was removed via the disconnected
carb hose line, which was dangling just under the height of the lower FW
flange.

BTW, if you have to pull the quick drain fittings, as I did, I was able to
(had to) drain another 10 fill-ups (total) of a std. 1" dia. fuel sampler
before removing the std. quick drain fittings. (I pulled mine to switch to
SAF-AIR SA18 flush mount style so I can close the upper door without having
to cut a semi-circle out of the upper door gap seal to close the door.
Plenty of clearance now.)

For reference, 254R has std. 3-bay tanks, with lines from tanks joining at a
low point under baggage area, then a single line forward -- and sits on
spring gear with 8.00-6.00 Carlisle tires @ 16 PSI for this test. :)
