Roland.. don't do it.. they and the bottom flange of the Fus-49 will crack
in short time. If you don't have the newer Fus85/86? combo for the tail
spring attach let me know and I'll send you some pics on how to mill your
own bathtub fitting for back there!

My 1992 plans call for four bulkhead stiffeners made out of .032 to be
inserted into the tail Fus 30 bulkhead. The 1998 plans make no mention of
the stiffeners??

There used to be an .xls spread sheet in the archives with all the rebel
parts listed. Let me know if you can't find it. Wray Thompson did this
many years ago.
Anyone unhappy with bathtub fittings can always weld some up out of
steel sheet if they have a gas or tig torch.

Thanks Wayne, pictures are always helpful. Do you remember a fus 87? The
plans call for one. Should I assume that the fus 87 replaced the fus 86,
in
the tailcone. As I mentioned, I have four of each of these parts... will I
need some elsewhere on the plane as well.

If anyone out there has a complete list of parts, numbers and
descriptions... I could use one about now. I only have bits and pieces of
lists from the previous builder, but nothing I would trust as being
comprehensive.

Not to throw a wrench into the mix, but my kit, #207 has the 85/86's.
Craig BTW, I have an extra curved rib that came with a split flap kit that
I'll send to someone if they want.

The four sets that you have are for the engine mount brackets behind the
firewall... but really surprised that your kit doesn't have the original one
piece fittings for this as well.. The Fus85/86 combo didn't come out to well

Checking through the parts I have, I found another similar part pair. Fus 88
and fus 84. They are the same shape as the fus 85 and 86 but a bit wider.
Could they be for the tailcone?

Sorry to throw all these questions at you, but I have no other source, since
MAM is extremely slow to respond.

[rebel-builders] Bulkhead Stiffeners

Sounds right.. I forget the correct #'s and don't have a manual with them in
it. If you have that pair.. go for it..

Checking through the parts I have, I found another similar part pair. Fus
88
and fus 84. They are the same shape as the fus 85 and 86 but a bit wider.
Could they be for the tailcone?

Sorry to throw all these questions at you, but I have no other source,
since
MAM is extremely slow to respond.

The four sets that you have are for the engine mount brackets behind the
firewall... but really surprised that your kit doesn't have the original
one

piece fittings for this as well.. The Fus85/86 combo didn't come out to
well

after kit 243 !

Thanks Wayne, pictures are always helpful. Do you remember a fus 87? The
plans call for one. Should I assume that the fus 87 replaced the fus 86,
in
the tailcone. As I mentioned, I have four of each of these parts... will
I
need some elsewhere on the plane as well.

If anyone out there has a complete list of parts, numbers and
descriptions... I could use one about now. I only have bits and pieces of
lists from the previous builder, but nothing I would trust as being
comprehensive.

Surprised you have the fus 85/86's for motor mount fittings with 056 !! I
actually prefer the old "bath tub" fittings that came with mine.. 243R...
as

they allow you to put in/and take out the motor mount bolts without
taking
the whole mess apart, since the AN3 bolts are in the way on the fus85/86
assembly. If you have an original motor mount bath tub fitting it will
work
in the tail as well, riveted to the Fus-49 bulkhead. IF not, let me know
and

I'll downsize some pics of me milling a fitting for back there to correct
the old style straps.

Thanks Wayne, greatly appreciated.

What came with my kit is 4 fus 85 and 4 fus 86. The plans call for a
fus
87
to attach the fus 85, but I have no such animal. Not sure the fus 86 has
enough reach to get the two bolts in. Sometimes utter confusion when
working
with 20 year old parts, some of which have been replaced, and some not,
etc.

Roland.. don't do it.. they and the bottom flange of the Fus-49 will
crack
in short time. If you don't have the newer Fus85/86? combo for the tail
spring attach let me know and I'll send you some pics on how to mill
your
own bathtub fitting for back there!

[rebel-builders] Bulkhead Stiffeners

No wrench Craig.. there's not a lot of ryhme or reason to it. Given that
many bought the kit in sub-sections..... their fuselage, even though an old
serial number, was shipped years after their control surface kit and them
getting a lower serial number. With older full kits, some guys buy the
latest parts to "upgrade" as they get to that part of the build. For
instance I have serial #237 in the shop right now.. 6 before mine.. and it
has the two piece motor mounts fittings in it. Also has the two piece tail
spring attach fittings.

Also Garry's FOKM is serial # 086 and it was built kinda sorta by the
factory (building across the road ;O) ) way back when... and it left there
with the two piece tail spring mount instead of the layered straps.

Not to throw a wrench into the mix, but my kit, #207 has the 85/86's.
Craig BTW, I have an extra curved rib that came with a split flap kit
that
I'll send to someone if they want.
