Hello all.
Could anyone tell me where I might find a hydraulic pump that would
work for my 1800 amphibs?I think it would have to be about the same
volume per stroke.Has anyone else used anything other than the Murphy
pump?Any help on this would be helpful as I really don't know what to
ask for if I do go shopping around for one.
Thanks a lot
Jason

Ya, that was our question too.....where's the pump? No one at Murphy
will return our calls or emails. So frustrating.

Clair Sceli has a nice little pump available. He uses it as a back up to the
electrics in the Clamars. It takes so many pumps though that you'll think
you're 15 again.... after stealing one of Dad's playboy magazines!

!!!!!!!!!!! It would be nice to find one that has the same volume so
it takes the same number of strokes.
If you could forward Clair's info just in case that would be great.
I'm getting older I can't be pumping it that much!!!!!!

Thanks,

Jason

[rebel-builders] Hydraulic pump for 1800's

There's an Elite builder I know up here that is missing approx 1/4 of his
1800 amphib kit incl all hydraulics, front wheels, a couple of B-heads,
most of the hardware, and lots of rivets. No joy from MAM despite many
requests to make it right.

[rebel-builders] Hydraulic pump for 1800's

I don't like hearing this crap!!! I had my floats sent to Germany when we were stationed there. By the time they arrived we were shipped to a deifferent duty station and I have not even been able to inventory the crates contents due to it being stored at my hanger in MN. We are currently in DC and I have had it for several years.....hope too much isn't missing because I am not sure what MAM would say if the there are things not in the crate. I think I remember the inventory list having everything checked as "included". But I had the same thing with my Rebel kit...things stated as in the crate and not included. I am sure they are trying there best in the current economic situation to maintain a business.

With every situation there's a "story" and this Is Not the forum to be
voicing it.............. Cause I'm sure there's another half to it that you
didn't hear.

Let's FOCUS on building and helping get the A/C's in the air.

Cheers,
Jeff

[rebel-builders] Hydraulic pump for 1800's

FWIW if starting again I'd probably use an electric boat trim hydraulic
pump in one of the floats. Perhaps backed up by a really small manual
pump plumbed with small 3/16" aluminum plumbing. Perhaps a small
aluminum off the shelf hydraulic pump with a crank handle for the backup.

I think a 3"x6" air cylinder with a couple of check valves would work. The
murphy pump is pretty simple.

!!!!!!!!!!! It would be nice to find one that has the same volume so
it takes the same number of strokes.
If you could forward Clair's info just in case that would be great.
I'm getting older I can't be pumping it that much!!!!!!

Thanks,

Jason

Clair Sceli has a nice little pump available. He uses it as a back

electrics in the Clamars. It takes so many pumps though that you'll

you're 15 again.... after stealing one of Dad's playboy magazines!

[rebel-builders] Hydraulic pump for 1800's

Saw a nice cylinder in Princess Auto for $28. that would just need a
handle and the two check valves. I tossed MAM's check valves in favor of
low restriction Watts valves anyway. MAM's pump is only about 2" dia x
2.5" stroke.
