The Murphy Builders Site

Over the years there have been discussions about the pros and cons of the Murphy tailwheel vs other offerings like Scott and Matco. I've been curious what is going back there with my Murphy tailwheel.

So, I pointed my cheap Flip video camera backwards to watch it during the torture test of grass, pavement, high speed taxi, takeoff and landing. There is never a wiggle or a waggle and definitely never a shimmey. Check out the YouTube video for proof and some chuckles.

I was not flying for this video. My friend was doing all the flying. He has never flown a Murphy before, but is an excellent pilot as you can see in the video. After watching the video, I've decided not to let him ever fly the plane again. In fact, I hate him.
