Geert just take a hose loose at the highest point on the engine then add
coolent slowly till it just starts to come out at that hose. Then you have
let all of the air out and replaced it with coolent, replace the hose run it
up to temp. Let it cool check to and top off if needed. You are going to
love it. Take care Dave

Hi, I must have been asleep during "Engines 101". I just installed that
blockheater, as suggested by the Morans. Now I don't seem to be able to add
any of the coolant that drained out and I am trying to pour back into the
expansion tank. It just overfills! What am I doing wrong?? I tried cranking
the engine over, I tried opening one of the drains in the radiator, lowest
point, but no great action there. HELP! Thank you, Geert.

If you vent the trapped air from a hose or a steam vent at a high point
it should let most of the coolant in. There may be more than one point
where air is trapped. The last few cubic inches of air usually comes out
over the next couple of hot and cold cylcles of the engine, assuming you
have a swirl pot or puke tank or someplace for the air to collect.

On my 2.2 on the cross over heater tube I instaled a bleeder to bleed out the
air when I add coolant it being the highest point of the engine.
