------AME's (A&P'S I think you call them), that I know, seem to prefer
Bendix mags
although Slicks are apparently cheaper to buy parts for. The Slicks
are the
proper mags to be on an O-320-E3D.

Thought you would be interested in knowing that Unison owns Slick and
Bendix. Slick mags and general aviation were their mainstay until about
1994(?). That year they bought Bendix ignition systems, Jacksonville,
FL., to move into the commercial aviation market. If I'm not mistaken,
the magneto business was included in the purchase.
That's why Unison will take Bendix mags in exchange for Slick mags.
They what to get the Bendix mags out of the market.
